Funda Yildirim is a final year PhD candidate in the Laboratory of Experimental Ophthalmology, University Medical Center Groningen. She began her studies in Computer Engineering and holds a Cognitive Science MSc degree. Her research involves visual crowding, low-level visual illusions, size perception and face perception. She studies perception by recording eye movements and tracking the amount of oxygen floating inside the veins around the brain. She likes to recognize subjects from their brains and to meet new people at conferences doing research on things that she never imagined before.
